Northwestern 33 Gum Tan

Northwestern Corp. 1933

I believe the Northwestern 33 gum is the most attractive of all Northwesterns. It is a small machine whose lines really flow well. They were available with a small or large globe of which I think the small is much more pleasing to the eye. They came in several different colors of porcelain, of which Tan is one of the hardest if not the hardest to find. The base color and lid color could be mixed and matched to suit and are often found with different color combinations.

This particular machine was an Ebay purchase and quite a nice surprise when I got it in the mail. The listing said that the auction was for a yellow porcelain base, but to my surprise, when it came in it was tan not yellow. I then proceeded to try to finish the machine as it came sans globe and top. I knew that it would be almost impossible to find a tan top so I thought about what other color would look good. I was offered a black top and right away I knew that it would look great. I would still like a tan top (if you have one e-mail me NOW) but I think that it is a stunning machine the way it sits.

I have finally found a tan lid! I knew I would if I was patient. It did not come cheap but I think it was well worth it.

This is 100% original right down to the almost perfect porcelain and great decal.
