Price Collar Button

Price Collar Button c. 1905

I really love collar button machines. It seems that just as much thought went into the style of the machines as the collar buttons they sold. I would like to own more but it seems that not many examples of most models survived which makes them pricey.

The Price collar button machine is made of cast iron and is only about 12" tall. There are 5 cent and 10 cent models. I assume that the 10 cent model came later when the price of collar buttons went up but it is conceivable that it was just to sell fancier collar buttons.

The example above is all original with most of the original paint and gold pinstriping. The only fault with this machine is that it is missing the coin door underneath.
